Project Overview — Full-Service Power Setup for Residential RV Parking
Benson Electric completed a custom RV electrical pedestal installation for a residential property in Ramona, California. The project involved delivering power from the main panel to a backyard RV pad—overcoming a 90-foot underground and 120-foot overhead electrical distance.
Project Details
- Location: Ramona, California
- Property Type: Residential RV pad installation
- Electrical Run: 90 ft underground / 120 ft overhead
Strategic Power Routing
The home's main panel was on the opposite side of the property from the RV pad. Our team designed a solution using attic raceways, exterior junction boxes, and underground conduit—ensuring clean, efficient power delivery without disrupting the home's layout or appearance.
Professional Installation Approach
We ran SER cable through the attic, installed a junction box on the exterior wall for future expansions, and trenched 90 feet underground with PVC conduit to the pedestal. This system protects the wiring from weather and keeps the landscape intact.
Versatile RV Power Configuration
The installed RV pedestal includes:
- 20A 120V GFCI outlet (standard use)
- 30A 120V outlet (mid-size RVs)
- 50A 240V outlet (large RVs)
Built for the Future
We designed this installation with future upgrades in mind. The attic raceway and junction box make it easy to add more circuits later, while the underground system ensures permanent, weather-resistant power delivery.
