Project Overview
Benson Electric installed the fire alarm and life safety system for the UCSD Extended Studies building in La Jolla. The system protects classrooms, offices, common areas, and back-of-house spaces with full addressable detection and code-compliant notification.
We coordinated closely with the university's project team and the AHJ to keep occupancy milestones on schedule.
Scope of Work
- Addressable fire alarm control panel and programming
- Smoke and heat detection across classrooms, corridors, and mechanical areas
- Speaker/strobe notification with audible and visible coverage to code
- Annunciator panel at the responding fire department entrance
- Monitoring integration with sprinkler flow/tamper and elevator recall
- Acceptance testing with the AHJ and full submittal closeout
