Benson Electric installed a Honeywell Silent Knight fire alarm and life safety system for Waste Management's renewable natural gas production facility located at the Simi Valley Landfill & Recycling Center.
The facility captures landfill gas generated during waste decomposition and processes it into pipeline-quality renewable natural gas used to supply homes, businesses, and vehicle fleets with lower-emission fuel.
Industrial facilities that process combustible gases require highly specialized fire alarm infrastructure designed to operate safely in hazardous environments. Benson Electric installed a fire alarm system designed to protect critical equipment and personnel within the gas processing building.
Structural Coordination
The renewable energy building housing the gas processing equipment was constructed by Steel Innovations, Benson Electric's project partner specializing in structural steel buildings for industrial environments.
This collaboration allowed the electrical and life safety systems to be integrated efficiently within the facility's steel structure and process infrastructure.
