Project Overview
Benson Electric provides ongoing commercial electrical services for the RaDD (Research and Development District) campus in downtown San Diego. Working directly with ownership and property management, our team supports the facility's electrical infrastructure and tenant improvement needs across multiple buildings within the development.
Our work at RaDD includes troubleshooting existing electrical systems, installing new electrical infrastructure to support future tenant spaces, and providing conduit and power installations for new building systems.
This work supports the continued build-out and operational needs of one of San Diego's premier life science and commercial developments.
Scope of Work
Benson Electric provides a wide range of commercial electrical services across the RaDD campus including:
- Electrical system troubleshooting and repairs
- Installation of new electrical feeder infrastructure
- Installation of feeder conduits for future tenant improvements
- Electrical circuit installations for new building systems
- Conduit infrastructure for low-voltage systems including access control and security cameras
- Installation of electrical infrastructure to support tenant build-outs
Electrical Infrastructure Expansion
As tenant spaces are built out within the RaDD campus, new electrical infrastructure must be installed to support those environments.
Benson Electric installs feeder conduits routed from main electrical rooms to tenant spaces, allowing future electrical distribution systems to be installed efficiently during tenant improvement construction.
These backbone installations help support the ongoing development and adaptability of the facility as new companies occupy the campus.
Event Power Infrastructure
Benson Electric installed a three-phase company switch connection to support event power requirements for the Padres event space located within the development.
This installation allows temporary event power distribution systems to be connected safely and efficiently for events hosted at the facility.
The company switch installation provides a reliable connection point for temporary electrical equipment used during large gatherings and special events.

Featured Highlight – "Eve" by San Diego Padres
One of the showcase installs included a 3-phase company switch for Eve, a premium event venue atop the Edge building. This 7,800 sq. ft. space offers panoramic bay views and hosts high-profile events for Petco Park Events.
